Once again the board is trying to kill a pro transparency resolution. This one because the person submitting is not a convention delegate. Where does it say that only convention delegates can submit resolutions!
We have no problem with the union promoting medical missions or cross cultural union exchanges. What we do have a problem with is: 1) the same people going over and over and over again, 2) in many cases members must pay for part of their own expenses while Board members Expenses are fully paid, 3) no notice, transparency about who is going, how they were chosen, or how to apply.
The Fact that we even have to ask for something so basic to a transparent, accountable, democratic union
SAYS IT ALL!
What trips have occurred over the last 2 years (including medical missions). Who were the attendees. What was the itemized cost to the union for each person. What was the purpose of the trip. How were attendees selected.
