We here at NYSNA I See You have discovered that at least two lawsuits have been filed against the union and more are on the way! At least two former staff have filled suit against the union and the cases are currently heading to court. We have also learned that at least one class action suit is in the process of being filed. The latest claim involves both current and former staff.
How much is this going to cost us now? There have previously been numerous settlements for undisclosed amounts of money. $200,000 was already wasted on frivolous lawsuits filed by the union which were thrown out of court. We the membership have a right to know how our money is being spent and for what purposes.
No one bothered to tell us that some staff received outrageous salaries and at least one receiving almost a 50% increase.
We would also like to know who is running the upcoming election. The American Arbitration Association is the organization all reputable union utilize. If NYSNA is not retaining them we want to know why.
Honesty and accountability is the least we deserve!
