Major Victory For Slate 2

Yesterday’s vote count proved most of the membership is disaffected and alienated from NYSNA.

93% of the membership voted for nobody! Only 7% of the membership participated in the election.

Slate 2 received 40% of the overall vote and won 2 seats on the board of directors.

Congratulations to Cynthia Caruso and Bruce Lavalle who won their regional seats.

Slate 2 won every position where members voted mixed ballots instead of slates.

We here at NYSNAiseeyou have been trying to make sense of the numbers and are at a complete loss. Someone is consulting with a statistician to find out what the odds are that the mixed ballots would be so dramatically different from the Slate ballots. If anyone has an answer please let us know.

This is a major victory for Slate 2 who ran without the resources of the union, almost all first time candidates, and all working full time at the bedside. We hope they don’t give up and continue the fight to Save Our Union into the future.
